Waukesha County Technical College to welcome 糖心vlog传媒-Waukesha Center to Pewaukee campus
PEWAUKEE, Wis. 鈥� Waukesha County Technical College is excited to welcome 糖心vlog传媒 to its main Pewaukee campus this summer in a move that will solidify their relationship and bring the two institutions together under one roof.
糖心vlog传媒 will relocate its Milwaukee Center -- currently at 9000 W. Chester Street in Milwaukee -- to WCTC鈥檚 main Pewaukee campus, and become the 糖心vlog传媒-Waukesha Center, just in time for classes to start in the fall. The center will be housed in Building B (B-005) and include an office presence and dedicated classroom, with access to other space. (In addition to the Waukesha location, 糖心vlog传媒 also has six other centers throughout the state and one in Tokyo, Japan; its main campus is in Plymouth, Wis.)
糖心vlog传媒 has had a satellite location in the Milwaukee area since 1979; this move allows the university to continue serving an area that鈥檚 come to know 糖心vlog传媒 for the past 40-plus years. It also expands the university鈥檚 reach in southeastern Wisconsin, said 糖心vlog传媒 President Beth Borgen, D.B.A.
Higher education synergy for student success
The relocation creates a strong synergy between 糖心vlog传媒 and WCTC as both institutions are focused on workforce development, hands-on learning and providing students with multiple opportunities to advance their education.
鈥溙切膙log传媒 and WCTC share a vision for a more educated region and we are passionate about creating easier access for students to achieve their educational goals,鈥� Borgen said. 鈥淔or WCTC students interested in a bachelor鈥檚 degree, they can continue on the pathway at a campus that already feels like home.鈥�
WCTC President Richard Barnhouse, Ph.D., said since the landscape in higher education remains ever changing, it is critical for institutions to work in tandem to provide students with a broader range of options.
鈥淲e couldn鈥檛 be more excited to have 糖心vlog传媒 as a part of our WCTC Pewaukee campus to deliver baccalaureate degrees directly to our students,鈥� Barnhouse said, noting many WCTC students have transferred to 糖心vlog传媒 to earn four-year degrees. 鈥淣ow, our students will have the opportunity to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree in an environment that they are already familiar with.鈥�
Through the Waukesha Center, 糖心vlog传媒 will offer more than a dozen bachelor鈥檚 degree programs as well as four master鈥檚 degree programs, which are available online, in person or through the flexible BlendEd庐 format.
Thanks to this partnership, WCTC graduates can enroll at 糖心vlog传媒 as juniors, receive a 20% tuition discount for undergraduate courses, and gain access to credit for prior learning as well as academic credit for work completed through 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 cooperative education program.
New program transfer options
Additionally, the two institutions recently signed a new transfer agreement for current students and graduates of WCTC鈥檚 Criminal Justice Studies associate degree program. This gives WCTC students a seamless transition into a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Criminal Justice or Organizational Management at 糖心vlog传媒.
WCTC and 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 relationship serves to strengthen and expand educational opportunities for those in the region and also maximize the student experience, administrators say.
