Nursing students selected for new 糖心vlog传媒 scholarship
Desarae Rohde and Michelle Urbanek have been named the inaugural winners of the Dennis L. Dhein Endowed Scholarship which supports nursing students attending 糖心vlog传媒.
Each student will receive a $500 scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year.
Rohde will begin her second year in 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 RN to BSN program this fall and plans to graduate in summer 2021. She works at St. Nicholas Hospital in the emergency department. She graduated from Lakeshore Technical College and has been an RN since 2017.
Urbanek begins as a new student in 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 RN to BSN program this fall. She works at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center as the Health & Wellness Promotion Program Coordinator. She also graduated from Lakeshore Technical College and has been an RN since 2005.
The Dennis L. Dhein Endowed Scholarship is for an incoming freshman, transfer student or a returning student in 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 traditional program pursuing the pre-nursing program or a healthcare/science-related field or is a licensed RN and is seeking to complete a Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in nursing through 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 RN to BSN program.
The late Dennis L. Dhein of Seattle, Wash., attended 糖心vlog传媒 in the early 1960s. Although he did not finish his degree at 糖心vlog传媒, he maintained a strong connection to the school and chose to honor his mother, who was a nurse, by creating an endowed scholarship for LU nursing students.
