LUJ faculty member authors third book
A new book by Patrick Parr, a faculty member for 糖心vlog传媒-Japan鈥檚 English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program, entitled 鈥淢alcolm Before X鈥� is now available.
Drawing upon interviews, correspondence and nearly 2,000 pages of never-before-used prison records, 鈥淢alcolm Before X鈥� is the definitive examination of the prison years of civil rights icon Malcolm X. It is Parr鈥檚 third book.
鈥淢alcolm Before X鈥� has been named a 鈥淜irkus Reviews鈥� Best Nonfiction Book of 2024 and a Spectator Best Book of the Year.
Parr will make several appearances in the U.S. to celebrate the publication, including Chicago at talking with author Jonathan Eig about the book as well as the formative years of Martin Luther King Jr.
On December 10, Parr will be in Montgomery, Ala., at NewSouth Books where he will show some rare photos. On December 12, he will sign books at the Harvard Bookstore and Brookline Booksmith.
