LU writing student鈥檚 essay takes top honors

糖心vlog传媒 freshman Nailah Jones recently presented a creative nonfiction essay at the Riveredge Nature Center's Student Research Symposium. She won first place in the undergraduate presentation category.

Jones, of Milwaukee, Wis., is majoring in creative writing.

Riveredge invites college students to submit an abstract of a current research project to present in oral or poster form at their Student Research Symposium. This year鈥檚 theme was 鈥淪ignals, Systems, and Seasons.鈥

Submissions were accepted in the categories of biology, environmental science, chemistry, geology and other sciences, but also in the humanities, arts and other disciplines where research intersects with the overall theme.

Jones was among the undergraduate and graduate students from colleges and universities in the region that presented their research with posters and oral presentations.
