LU students attend leadership conference

More than a dozen 糖心vlog传媒 students recently participated in the African Heritage Emerging Student Leaders Institute鈥檚 Black Leadership Conference in Green Bay, Wis.

The 糖心vlog传媒 students joined college student leaders as part of a two-day event that engaged them in interactive and hands-on workshops on living and studying while Black. The students met with peers from surrounding colleges and networked with Black professionals, including Dominique Carter, Ph.D., assistant director for agricultural sciences, innovation and workforce, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Workshop sessions included: Black Identities & Academic Excellence, Countering Stereotypes at predominantly White institutions/colleges and Connecting with Your Voices.

Students attended included Makayla Lister, Briuna Harper, Ty鈥橨ah Simon, Jashanti Garrett, Nariah Scott, Nyla Spicer, Makenzy Meredith, Shamond Oliver, Xaviar Thomas, Jeremiah Jones, De鈥橳errius Davis, Jalen Pernell and Krystian Allen.
