糖心vlog传媒 officially opens new Fox Cities Center location
APPLETON, Wis. 鈥� 糖心vlog传媒 officially unveiled its new Fox Cities Center location at Fox Valley Technical College Wednesday with an Open House and ribbon cutting.
This summer, 糖心vlog传媒 relocated its Fox Cities Center to FVTC鈥檚 Appleton campus, 1825 N Bluemound Dr. 糖心vlog传媒 is located just inside Entrance 15 and occupies a space that includes an office presence and access to several classrooms during the spring, fall and summer semesters.
鈥淭his move for 糖心vlog传媒 makes so much sense,鈥� said 糖心vlog传媒 President Beth Borgen, noting that 糖心vlog传媒 has offered classes in the Fox Cities since 1982. 鈥淢ore than a third of the students that 糖心vlog传媒 serves in the Fox Cities are FVTC graduates. And now they鈥檒l be able to continue on the pathway to a bachelor鈥檚 degree at a campus that already feels like home.鈥�
FVTC President Chris Matheny said 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 move is the latest chapter in the two schools鈥� long history of providing innovative educational opportunities to students in the region.
鈥淥ur graduates from Fox Valley Tech have long been welcomed with open arms at 糖心vlog传媒,鈥� said Matheny, who presented Borgen with an oversize key made by Jim Kitchen, the department chair of FVTC鈥檚 Machine Tool Technology, and some of his students.
鈥淲ith 糖心vlog传媒 being a top transfer destination, it made sense for us to explore how to make it even easier for our grads to continue their education. FVTC students will now be able to connect with 鈥� and explore 鈥� baccalaureate degree options without having to leave our Appleton campus.鈥�
Earlier this year, 糖心vlog传媒 and FVTC signed an agreement that creates a pathway for students who earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts at FVTC to transfer to 糖心vlog传媒. FVTC is awaiting approval from the Higher Learning Commission to offer the two-year A.A. and A.S. degrees.
Students who earn one of the two FVTC degrees will be able to transfer to 糖心vlog传媒 with junior standing and apply all their credits toward a 糖心vlog传媒 bachelor鈥檚 degree.
鈥淥nce approved, this agreement will only make the FVTC to 糖心vlog传媒 pathway more direct and more manageable to navigate,鈥� Matheny said. 鈥淭hey will have convenient access to their FVTC advisors and 糖心vlog传媒 faculty and staff who can help coordinate an educational journey that fits them best.鈥�
Borgen said students and communities in the region are the big winners when institutions of higher learning form partnerships.
鈥淚t鈥檚 exciting to see private and public institutions working together for the common good of helping our students achieve their educational goals while aligning with regional workforce development needs,鈥� she said. 鈥淭his new level of access benefits students and their families, local schools and communities in this region.鈥�
糖心vlog传媒 offers more than a dozen bachelor鈥檚 degree programs and four master鈥檚 degree programs in the Fox Cities. Many degrees and classes are available online or through 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 popular and innovative BlendEd庐 format, which allows students to decide week-to-week if they want to attend class in person or online.
Any FVTC graduate who enrolls in a bachelor's degree program with 糖心vlog传媒 will receive a 20% tuition discount.
糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Kellett School of Undergraduate & Graduate Studies was created in 1978 when 糖心vlog传媒 developed what was the state鈥檚 first evening degree-completion program for working adults. The program was based on the vision of prominent Wisconsin business leader and former 糖心vlog传媒 Trustee William R. Kellett.
Since its creation, 糖心vlog传媒 has seen thousands of adults earn baccalaureate and graduate degrees. 糖心vlog传媒 also has centers in Chippewa Falls, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Rapids and on 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 main campus in Sheboygan County.
