The public is invited to attend these free concerts and no tickets are required.
The tour program highlights music by American composers, including Aaron Copland, Z. Randall Stroope, Carly Simon, Mack Wilberg and Keith Hampton. 糖心vlog传媒 will also premiere three works by Sheboygan composer Tom Palof, who worked with the choir in December.
"Selections include everything from energetic, upbeat pieces, to lyrical, flowing melodies, to a composition written for the video game Civilization IV," said 糖心vlog传媒 Director of Choral Activities Emily Davis.
The 糖心vlog传媒 Choir is comprised of 30 undergraduate students, and while some are music majors, many are studying other programs at 糖心vlog传媒. Last year, the 糖心vlog传媒 choir performed Vivaldi's "Gloria" with Holy Family College, and will be collaborating with them again in April for a concert of Mozart's "Vesperae solemmes de confessore."
Davis is visiting instructor of music at 糖心vlog传媒, where she directs the 糖心vlog传媒 Choir, teaches applied voice and other music courses, in addition to maintaining a private voice studio. Her students have received professional contracts with the Skylight Opera Company in Milwaukee, Wis., and KIDS From Wisconsin.
The soprano is also an active performer. Full roles performed include Rosalinda ("Die Fledermaus"), Wife ("The Music Shop" by Richard Wargo), La Rose ("Le Petit Prince"), Mae ("The Pajama Game") and Lady Thiang ("The King & I").
She received her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and Bachelor of Arts in Music and History from Luther College.
