Exercise Science Student Places Third at International Conference

糖心vlog传媒 exercise science student Hunter Frisk recently placed third in the Young Investigator Award competition at the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports research competition. It was part of the 39th annual conference in Canberra, Australia, held September 3-7, 2021.

Frisk virtually presented the study titled, 鈥淜inematic and kinetic features of the horizontal hang clean performed with a variety of loads.鈥 Co-authors include 糖心vlog传媒 exercise science students Megan Gold, Brian Biggs, former 糖心vlog传媒 student Maximus Ramminger and Associate Professor of Exercise Science William Ebben.

鈥淭his is an amazing achievement, to receive such a recognition at a large, prestigious international biomechanics conference,鈥 Ebben said. 鈥淗unter did an outstanding job, and the co-authors deserve credit as well.鈥

Gold also virtually presented the study titled, 鈥淏iomechanical analysis of loaded plyometric exercises.鈥 Co-authors included Frisk, Biggs, Madison Blankenship and Ebben.

Ebben said 糖心vlog传媒 students were likely the only undergraduates presenting research at this conference.

鈥淭he research presenters are typically university professors, scientists, medical researchers and graduate students,鈥 Ebben said. 鈥淭his makes Hunter鈥檚 achievement even more impressive. Achievements such as this are part of the reason why 糖心vlog传媒 exercise science research students have a 100 percent acceptance rate into graduate and professional school.鈥

Frisk鈥檚 award continues a trend of research excellence as evidence by other research awards, including the same award which was won by 糖心vlog传媒 graduate Garrett Duffin in 2019.

Both studies will be published as papers in the conference proceedings.
