Building state's workforce focus of 糖心vlog传媒 conversation

College and career readiness in Wisconsin schools and its future in shaping the state鈥檚 workforce will be the centerpiece in the first of a two-part discussion this Wednesday in Milwaukee as 糖心vlog传媒 presents its Talent Strategies Network (TSN) Speakers Series.

Eric Hill of CESA 1, Karin Smith, dual enrollment education consultant with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and Rachel Ware Carlton, dean of 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Kellett School for Undergraduate & Graduate Studies will kick off a conversation about College and Career Readiness strategies, Academic and Career Planning (ACP) initiatives and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

The event, which will be held at 糖心vlog传媒鈥檚 Milwaukee Center, 9000 W. Chester St., Milwaukee, begins with registration and networking at 7:30 a.m. followed by the conversation at 8. The conversation can also be attended virtually.

The evolving Regional Career Pathways project and networks will also be addressed in this two-part conversation. Given the scope and complexity of designing and implementing each of these concepts within K-12 school districts and systems, a second date to continue the conversation will be announced.

Registration is free and can be made by emailing Deanne Herber at HerberDP@lakeland.edu. Once registration is received, participants will be emailed a pre-event packet with materials about the concepts that will be covered, and virtual participants will get more information about getting connected.

The TSN initiative is focused on amplifying strategies and messages that promote participation in Wisconsin鈥檚 current and future labor force. The 2030 occupational projections for Wisconsin anticipate a need for almost 200,000 additional workers. Where will these workers and the associated skill sets and knowledge come from? Wednesday鈥檚 conversation will discuss how creating more workers starts with students in the state鈥檚 K-12 educational pipeline.

Talent Strategies Network was launched by 糖心vlog传媒 to connect practitioners within Southeastern Wisconsin to join a solutions-focused conversation about talent development and the realities of the state labor market.

Wednesday鈥檚 conversation will focus on the amplification of inclusive talent development strategies and initiatives to ensure that all youth and young adults understand education options and skill development career pathways that lead to participation in Wisconsin鈥檚 labor market.
